Future Food Congress Singapore

Between June 16–18, 2025, the Future Foods Congress 2025 took place in Singapore, with the FOCUSE teamparticipating in the event. The congress focused on the future of food and aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and stimulate innovation among representatives from academia and industry. The mission of the congress is to jointly seek solutions to the complex challenges related to food sciencefood technology, and sustainable food systems.

The event was targeted at scientistsindustrial researchersdevelopment specialistsentrepreneurs, and policymakers who share a passion for sustainability and the future of food systems.

The main themes of the conference included:

  • Clean and sustainable food processing: circular economy, food waste management
  • Novel food ingredients: plant-based components, alternative proteins (algae, insects, fungi, etc.), local and traditional sources
  • Innovative technologies and future foods: urban agriculture, applications of artificial intelligence
  • Sustainable food packaging: ecodesign, sustainable and edible packaging, smart packaging, micro- and nanomaterials, packaging material recycling
  • Sustainable nutrition for health
  • Consumer research in the context of sustainable technologies and future foods
  • Regulatory aspects, policy, and governance in the field of future foods

The FOCUSE team presented two posters and delivered two talks titled:

  • “Urban Fruit Orchards as a Key Element Supporting Local Food Production: A Case Study of Wrocław, Poland”
  • “Micro Urban Farming: Food Security in Cities”
