Creative Workshops: 10.01.2025

On January 10, 2025, at the Strachocin-Swojczyce-Wojnów Neighborhood Council located at Swojczycka Street 118 in Wrocław, creative workshops titled “Wrocław – A Green Garden City” were held with the participation of 46 seniors. The aim of the event was to engage the older generation in a dialogue about sustainable development and to familiarize participants with the possibilities of implementing circular urban agriculture. This initiative sought to highlight the role of seniors in creating eco-friendly urban spaces tailored to various social groups. The workshops included an expert lecture by the FOCUSE team on urban agriculture and innovative solutions worldwide, a presentation of local initiatives implemented in Wrocław, and project-based activities during which seniors actively designed eco-friendly urban spaces, sharing their experiences. As a result of the event, participants gained a deeper understanding of the benefits of circular urban agriculture, exchanged intergenerational ideas, and became more engaged in activities for their local community, which strengthened their sense of empowerment. These workshops represented a significant step toward building ecological awareness and involving the older generation in efforts to promote the sustainable development of the city.
