Radio broadcast on 22.12.2025
On December 22, 2025, the FOCUSE team was a guest on the radio program “Eureka” broadcast on Polish Radio Program One (PR1).
The discussion addressed the topic “Agriculture 4.0 in the Center of a Metropolis. Will Skyscrapers Replace Fields?” and focused on the real possibilities of introducing food production into urban spaces. Among the issues discussed were vertical farming, home and backyard micro-cultivation, as well as advanced, professional hydroponic systems. Dr. hab. Alicja Krzemińska and Dr. Eng. Anna Zaręba pointed out the benefits of developing urban agriculture in the context of modern cities, food security, and adaptation to climate change.
The aim of the program was to popularize knowledge and to demonstrate that a city can serve not only as a consumer, but also as a producer—a space for regeneration and responsible resource management. The importance of changing the way we think about cities, food, and the future of life in the face of climate and environmental crises was emphasized. In the era of climate change, cities should learn not only to consume, but also to produce and protect their own resources, as true transformation begins with a change in mindset and in approaches to space, food, and responsibility. Cities of the future should be resilient, self-sufficient, livable, and oriented toward human needs.
The interview “Agriculture 4.0 in the Center of a Metropolis. Will Skyscrapers Replace Fields?” begins at 23:35 of the broadcast.
