Dr hab. Alicja Krzemińska
A natural scientist, ecologist, geologist, and chemist conducting multidisciplinary environmental research in various climatic zones and research areas. An employee of the Institute of Geography and Regional Development at the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Environmental Management at the University of Wrocław. Her research interests cover a wide range of topics from environmental issues in floodplains, modeling floods in flow-through polders, hydromorphological assessment of watercourses, to the problems of contemporary cities in various aspects such as spatial, ecological, systemic (urban natural system), and green-blue infrastructure, ecosystem services, and urban water footprints. An important element of her research is smart solutions in urban fabric as well as bionic cities of the future and food production in the urban fabric. A significant aspect of her research is the landscape, which she analyzes in a multi-faceted approach in urban areas as well as post-industrial (post-mining, post-industrial, degraded) areas. An important direction of her research is the transformation of landscapes in Natura 2000 areas as well as cultural and sacred landscapes.
